Today we had Spanish and PE. We practiced word problems and then took another Quick Quiz in math. During book clubs we had a pop quiz and then did a drawing/cartoon of a scene from Dear Mr. Henshaw. This afternoon we worked on our author letters in writer's workshop before a fire drill.

Today we practiced finding nouns, verbs, and verb phrases. The After Craft Sale was very exciting and chaotic, but we did our best escorting our book buddies around. We listened to Fish in a Tree, read some Dear Mr. Henshaw, compared and contrasted the characters of Ally and Leigh, and then kept working on our author letters! Busy day!

Happy Thursday! We had Spanish first-thing, then practiced 2-by-2 digit multiplication with partners. This afternoon we listened to some published pieces by classmates and then continued writing our own.

Happy Monday! Today we practiced finding the difference and spotting subtraction mistakes. Then we talked about long e endings (ie, ey, y). Middle school author Jake Marcionette is coming to visit Glenburn School on Thursday, so we watched an interview and read the first page of his book Just Jake. Then we discussed Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. In writing, we read two opinion pieces and figured out how they're organized. Then we continued writing!

We practiced sequencing and summarizing again in reading, plus we read the chapter called "My Brother the Bird" in Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.
